Chronicles of GTC: Part I Smokin
During my stint as Great Teacher Cai, I had many encounters that one will not experience in other jobs. Its only right for me to share them! As the saying goes... Sharing Is Caring!
-I had to answer nature call before I go for my next class, since its an urgency I just went to the nearest male toilet and not the staff toilet thats miles away.
The moment I stepped in I smell smoke, not weed, not marijuana, not pot but just the distinct cigarettes' smoke.
"Smokin in toilet?" I thought to myself. "Oh man! Should i join them?"
two of the students were just relaxing on the bench inside the toilet, one of them stood up
upon my entry and was stunned for 5 seconds.
The other, trying in vain to give some signal to the culprit of my presence by making the kissing sound. *psttt* *pstt*
"*Smack my head* Oh man what a nOOB! What kinda of signal is that!"
And there stood the student, with one arm behind his back as i confronted him, hiding the cigarette from my view (oh yea he didnt even close the cubicle door)
I stared at him for 10 seconds, not uttering a word. (the truth is i dunno what to say) With sweat beads forming on his forehead, the students started pleading
"teacher give chance la... i wont do it again le.. give chance la cher.."
"Why are you smoking huh? ok if you can give me one benefit of smoking i will let you go." Not withdrawing my stern stare on him.
"eh.. teacher can relief stress ah, nowadays very stressful.." He mumbled with no conviction at all.
My Great Teacher Cai reflexes spring into action as I countered him sharply,
"Now that I've caught you, don't you feel more stressful?"
"......." he can only bowed his head in dejection.
Meanwhile his sidekicks are by my side pleading for him as well "Teacher give chance! he will kena caned de! blah blah blah"
I wasn't listening to them as at that moment i was wondering what will happen if they decide to gang up on me and kick my ass? They are only 16 years old but im cornered by them.. should i shun po away?
The thought flew away as I remembered Im GTC, retained my coolness and memorised his name and IC number as i demanded for his student pass.
'oh my, he looked just like your regular bookworm in this photo, is he really so stressful from his studies?"
The rest, as they said, is history.
