2007, we’re 21, ( well, at least...you guys are..... ) still a bunch of losers. What about ten years later? How will we be like? Well, I kinda gave a thought to it. And here’s the picture I’ve painted for each of you. Hope you like it. =)

Part 1: Cai Li
披着人皮的熊

March 21, 2017.

In an HDB apartment near Bedok Interchange.

He could smell dinner even before he entered the lift. The evening sun blinded him as he rushed out of the lift but it didn’t matter. He couldn’t wait to get home.

He reached his doorstep and searched his pockets for the keys.

“你又忘了带钥匙了!” There she was; the love of his life, standing behind the gate, with her arms folded.

He chuckled gleefully and gestured her to let him in.

“想得美! 我要你待在外面面壁思过!” She chipped at him and slammed the door shut.

Caili bent down, trying to control his laughter, he reached his hand below the shoe rack and pulled out what seemed like a key.

As gently as he could, he slotted the key into the gate and twisted it with utmost care. He heaved a sigh of relief as the gate unlocked with a soft click. He pushed open the door just enough to slip his head through. He looked around the house and crept in the moment he saw Yeung Fan entered the toilet.

He had done this before and he would do it again. Only nine steps separated him from his haven -- the bedroom. Step by step he treaded lightly until the last step when he paused and smiled to himself victoriously; for he knew the moment he gets into his snorlax position on the bed, nothing would be able to get him off it, not even his bearish wife. It's just as sad that nothing goes right when you're a bear; as he reached for the knob of his bedroom door, he heard a warm, familiar yet dreaded voice.

“Ah bee ah…你在做什么?” It was his mother’s voice. He spun his head around, there she was, lying on the sofa, picking her tooth.

“Gosh…how did I miss her….” He thought to himself…but it was too late as footsteps approached rapidly from the other direction…

He turned around and saw Yeung Fan, one hand holding a feather duster, face reddened with fury.

“关公!” He pointed at her with one hand and covered half his face with the other, trying to hide his cheeky grin.

“关你的头! 你晚餐吃屎吧!” She screamed at the top of her voice.

There was silence for a moment. When she finally recollected herself, Yeung Fan turned to caili’s petrified mum, and said with a smile “妈，吃饭了~”

“O…..O…..orh….” His mum shuddered and followed Yeung Fan to the kitchen.

Caili dropped his head and went into the toilet to prepare his dinner.

Part 2: Tui Phin
今天你要嫁给我

“Next.”

“H….h…hi…”

“Name.” Yvonne continued without looking up.

“F…Fey Tui Phin.” Tui Phin stammered. He looked around the office, this was the sixteenth time he had approached the agency and still his nerves refused to settle.

“Oh…” Yvonne looked up, expressionless, “Good to see you again I guess…”

Tui Phin pulled out a hanky from his pocket and wiped the sweat on his forehead. “Umm…” He looked down, “ The previous one……tak cantik …. “

Yvonne grimaced slightly as she flipped through Tui Phin’s records. “Umm Mr.Fey, of the 15 ladies you chose, 14 were from China and all of them cheated on you; so you went for a Sri Lankan the last time…hmm…so this one isn’t pretty enough for you eh?”

Tui Phin rested his elbows on the table, “Miss…..”

“Just Yvonne will be fine.”

“…Yvonne, all the ladies were fine actually.”

Yvonne could almost feel a vein snapping in her head.

Calm down Yvonne….this is a money tree you’re dealing with…

Yvonne forced an awkward smile, “What’s wrong then? Mr. Fey”

“Well…” Tui Phin gulped, “Actually….”

Yvonne closed her eyes briefly, taking in a deep breath, “Actually?”

There was silence. Yvonne waved a hand at Tui Phin’s face, “Hoi, Mr. Fey, you ok?”

Tui Phin gulped again and nodded, sweat dripping from his forehead. Yvonne reached for the tissue box and passed it to Tui Phin.

“It’s..ok…Miss Yvonne…actually, I’ve something to tell you…”

Jialat….can’t be good…

Tui Phin reached into his shirt pocket and took out a ring.

“Will…you….marry me?”

Yvonne’s jaw dropped, whether it was Tui Phin’s proposal or the size of the diamond which stunned her, it was hard to tell.

Seeing no response from Yvonne, Tui Phin smiled and said, “Back in Muar, we 麻坡的华人 believe that silence means consent.”

With that, Tui Phin stood up and started tapping his feet, “Everybody it’s TP in the house, now please sing along with me!”

An unimportant colleague (Let's call him....Frankie) rushed over to Yvonne's seat, "Yvonne! Yvonne! You ok? Someone call the ambulance!!"
